Administration and General Services

The Departments in piloting the affairs of the LGA and it is well known facts that the Department is mandated to shoulder the responsibility of facilitating in administering the affairs of the LGA. Under its aegis, Human Resources, Training and retraining of Staff in order to address the cutting edge of low level personnel and their limited capacity, procurement and supply of material, general maintenance of office, vehicles and machines.

Some of the duties and responsibilities of the department includes:

  • Head of Personnel Management, General Services and Administration.
  • In charge of day-to-day running of the department.
  • Policy initiation and execution
  • Advising Head of Local Government Administration on Policy matters.
  • Chairman Junior Staff Committee
  • Liaises with the Head of Local Government Administration for coordination of training activities in the Local Government.
  • Departmental vote controller in accordance with the Revised Financial Memoranda for Local Government.
  • Signs all Cheques in conjunction with the Treasurer.
  • Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the council, FGPC., the Chairman and the Secretary.
